There are a handful of resources where you can learn more about the Actuarial Career and exam process. The primary resources are of course the SOA (www.soa.org) and CAS (www.casact.org) organizations. We are often directing people who want to learn about becoming an actuary to the site, www.beanactuary.org. However, there are other resources that you might not think about…
Actuarial retailers such as the Actuarial Bookstore and Coaching Actuaries are staffed by professionals who are either Actuaries themselves or who have great depth of knowledge about the career. We are here to help and encourage anyone interested in a career as an actuary. We know it might be tough to find answers to your questions online, so reach out to our knowledgeable customer service representatives – they will know the answers!
The newest resource for information about an actuarial career is the 1st Midwest Actuarial Student Conference at Purdue University on October 19th. The conference is going to be an excellent place to network with fellow prospective actuarial students, credentialed actuaries and other experts in the field. Attendees will have the chance to sit in on seminars about exams, study materials and much more. This is a unique opportunity to sit face-to-face with individuals who can lend you a helping hand. Best of all, it’s free to attend!! To find out more about this conference, you should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Jeff Beckley at 317-698-8543. We hope those of you that attend will stop by our booth to receive free gifts and an exclusive discount coupon.
